Who we are
Curved Stairlift, at curvedstairlift.co, is operated by Freedom Stairlifts Limited. We are the data controller responsible for personal information handled through this website.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@curvedstairlift.co or write to our registered office: Unit 2a Railway Triangle Industrial Estate, Dorchester, DT1 2PJ.
Information we collect
Our enquiry form requires your name, postcode, phone number and email address so that we can respond to your request. Staircase details and a message are optional. We also keep relevant correspondence about your request.
The required fields help us identify your enquiry, check coverage and contact you. You do not have to make an enquiry, but we may be unable to respond through the form without these details. Please do not include medical or other sensitive information.
If you enquire for someone else, only provide details you are authorised to share and make this notice available to them. We may receive their details from you rather than directly from them.
We use basic technical information, such as connection addresses and hosting logs, to help keep the website secure. The enquiry form uses an essential session cookie. See our cookie notice.
How and why we use your information
- Quotation requests: to discuss your requirements and stairlift options, taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
- General enquiries and relevant referrals: our legitimate interests in answering requests, helping people find suitable stairlift support and keeping records of those discussions, including enquiries made on someone else’s behalf.
- Security and administration: our legitimate interests in protecting the website and enquiries, preventing spam and resolving technical problems.
- Legal obligations: where we must retain or disclose information to meet an applicable legal requirement.
We consider your interests and rights when relying on legitimate interests. You can object using the contact details above. Your enquiry does not add you to a marketing list. This website does not make automated decisions about you or profile you.
We store your enquiry and relevant correspondence so that we can respond to your request and manage any follow-up.
How long we keep information
We keep ordinary enquiries that do not lead to a purchase for 12 calendar months from receipt. We may keep relevant information longer where an ongoing discussion, complaint or legal matter requires it, with the reason documented and the need reviewed.
If an enquiry leads to a purchase, relevant information is handled separately as a customer record. Its retention depends on the purchase and related customer support, applicable accounting or other legal requirements, and any complaint or legal claim. The ordinary enquiry period is not a fixed retention period for customer records.
Email correspondence is kept as needed to handle your enquiry or customer relationship and meet legal requirements. Backup and hosting-log retention depends on recovery and security needs and applicable legal requirements. Removing an enquiry does not immediately remove every backup copy. Contact us about retention or deletion of your information.
Protecting your information
We use secure website connections and restrict access to personal information to those who need it to handle enquiries or maintain the service. No internet or email service can offer an absolute guarantee of security.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request its deletion, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or receive information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email info@curvedstairlift.co to exercise your rights. We may need to confirm your identity before providing information. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in data protection law.
You can contact us with a concern and you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page if our use of personal information changes. The date above shows when the notice was last updated.
